about
5AM and Wax Future have been long time friends and live collaborators, but in late 2022 we entered the studio for the first time to create this jazz-infused journey of a tune. The funky bassline, glitches, guitar, and keys set the stage, but we decided it deserved vocals, and a couple months ago when Connor wrote and recorded them, it became the uplifting song it was meant to be.
Hope you enjoy the jams!
lyrics
Be the change, bring the sight
Hold the torch, pass a light
Find your way through the night
We gonna make it
Choose a path, left or right
Back and forth, highest height
Find your way through the night
We gonna make it

I keep playing and playing this over and over again. Sometimes more often than others but I always seem to come back for that inner geometric reset of the hologram 👽I feel like I’m listening to the best representation of light = electricity = what we are 🙌 been following David’s story for 20+ since London days. There’s no fav one for me, the geometry comes full circle and it’s perfect! The joy is in the mystery my fellow beings ☀️ Papas
The Chicago wunderkind's debut album is half lo-fi hip-hop pianos and breakneck drumming, half polished pop songs full of orchestral arrangements and whimsical but melancholic melodies. Bandcamp Album of the Day Nov 23, 2020

These five tracks tell a lucid story with tones and textures, AND nearly demand you move your body during each piece.
This EP calls between critical nodes of musical DNA that link together many of my favorite parts of the electronic scene.
Good for a party with that edgy energy, a firespin, or night drive! David Rees
